ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Chef works as part of our Black Barn Production Kitchen Team, partaking in the preparation and cooking of our large range of award-winning organic soups, meals and broths.

We produce up to 30,000 units per week of hand-cooked products, all of which utilise the best quality organic ingredients, much of which is produced on our very own farm, with all meat being supplied by our own abattoir.


SALARY: 13.18 per hour
HOURS: Full-time, 45 hours per week


RESPONSIBILITIES

Executing all products as per company specifications Ensuring that all meals/recipes are prepared consistently and to the highest quality Carrying out all food preparation in a timely and professional manner Adhering to the standards set out by the Soil Association and SALSA Auditors Ensuring that all ingredients are prepared, weighed and measured ready for production Observing a clean-as-you-go policy and completing the required cleaning rotas Keeping detailed records in order to fulfil the business's due diligence and traceability requirements Communicating effectively with other departments in the business, including Distribution, Technical and Buying Teams, where appropriate Working safely and efficiently to ensure that all daily orders are completed above the required fulfilment rate (98%) Helping the Black Barn Management Team to fulfil the Black Barn's annual financial/budgetary targets Completing all mandatory training within the required timescales Participating in the effective communication amongst the team regarding any changes to recipes, procedures and/or operational needs, and amongst the company and other customers regarding any quality issues/shortages in the required timescale Acting as a positive ambassador for Daylesford Organic, acting collaboratively with the Production Management and Technical teams to ensure that all recommended actions are carried out positively and efficiently

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

A strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy and precision A good understanding of legal food safety and health & safety requirements Experience working as a chef at a CDP level or higher A passion for/knowledge of quality cooking and/or food production The ability to work independently following existing processes and recipes/specifications
