Forestry and Land Scotland is dedicated to supporting the economy, protecting the environment, and managing Scotland's National forests and land.

We are currently looking for a Nursery Manager (Field) to oversee the production of bare-root trees at our nursery. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager (Glasshouse) and Team Leaders to manage a team of Nursery Operatives in tasks such as transplanting seedlings, grading and dispatching trees, and maintaining the nursery grounds.

Our Plant and Seed Supply team is responsible for growing or sourcing over 25 million trees annually. Newton Nursery, our publicly owned facility, is undergoing redevelopment which includes a state-of-the-art 12,000sqm glasshouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality and quantity of bare-root trees
  • Oversee annual work cycle tasks
  • Manage a team of Nursery Operatives
  • Maintain a healthy and productive nursery

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of modern horticulture or plant production
  • Experience in forest nursery or agricultural settings
