Our *Academic English Teacher* role is perfect got those with more experience, particularly with EAP and exam preparation. This is a 1 year, fixed-term contract requiring 19 hours per week, plus CPD time.
You will teach general English classes, with the potential to teach exam classes as well. You will deliver English courses to Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts (CSVPA) students. Our students take English, in addition to their focus of study within visual and performing arts. This role is primarily to teach on these courses.
These are Academic English courses, developing the students English skills to succeed in IELTS and to go on to be successful university students.
In addition to delivering lessons for the CSVPA students, you may at times be timetabled for classes on the year-round, Stafford House language school programmes.
We also offer *EFL Teacher* contracts, which are available to newly qualified and experienced teachers. We offer ongoing support, small class sizes and a clear curriculum.Although this is a sessional contract, all teachers are welcomed equally, becoming part of the wider Stafford House team from day one.
We are well placed to guide newly qualified teachers, as well as supporting more experienced teachers, throughout their time with us.
This is a 0 hour contract, which typically offers 15-23 hours per week.We also offer small class sizes (around 14 students) and clear curriculum outlines to aid planning.
Qualifications*Essential Qualifications for the Academic English Teacher*:
- CELTA (preferred DELTA or MA)
- At least 3 years teaching experience
- Thorough knowledge of IELTS
- Experience of teaching for exam preparation
- Experience of teaching EAP
- Commitment to delivering high quality lessons
- Solid classroom management skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Degree or equivalent required
- Teaching experience preferred but not essentialSalary and Benefits*Academic English Teacher*:19 teaching hours per week and the admin usually associated with teaching, (planning preparation, marking etc.) with the possibility of doing more hours and being paid extra. The contract also includes 3 development hours per week.
Training and development opportunities including regular INSETT sessions are offered to all staff, especially those committed to their own professional development.
