Purpose of Role:

The State Street Alpha Portfolio Services team is comprised of Account Services, Data Management, Enterprise Business Solutions, Portfolio Control, Cash Services, Front Office– Reconciliations, Front Office Support, Client Reporting, Onboarding / Operational Readiness and SSGA Portfolio Admin functions. The teams are based across multiple locations across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland and India. They are also supported by global counterparts in other regions across APAC and North America.

Alpha Portfolio Services is increasing its talent to support new client onboarding onto our Front-to-Back, Investment Platform – Alpha; and has a number of exciting opportunities for motivated individuals.

This new role in Cash Services EMEA creates an opportunity for development of subject matter expertise and experience of in a client focussed cash team.

Alpha Portfolio Services is supporting its cash team by investing in the development of a skilled team of Alpha professionals capable of both supporting the day-to-day operations of existing clients and assisting the implementation for new clients.

Cash Services

The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for various functions and tasks including:

  • Portfolio Health
  • Cash Balance accuracy
  • Day over Day portfolio analysis
  • Start of Day readiness for Portfolio Managers
  • Overdraft monitoring and resolution
  • Material break review
  • Month end books close
  • Stale balance monitoring and review .
  • Daily Cash management service including liquidity fund investments and cash sweeps.

The role is client facing, including answering queries from clients over the phone or in writing, working with the COOs to provide timely and accurate responses to ad-hoc client queries, participating in client meetings and representing the business unit. Monitor, report and investigate cash related reconciliation breaks.

In addition, individuals will be expected to:

  • Identify data or accounts trends for discussion in group meetings.
  • Interact with all Middle Office teams (Accounting, Corporate Actions, Trading, Performance)
  • Remain familiar with back-up procedures when system applications and/or transmission problems arise.
  • Build cooperative and professional internal/external relationships achieving group and client goals, utilizing all available resources throughout Global delivery.
  • Interact with clients in a service oriented manner in particular in client implementations as well as business as usual.

Level of Education/ Qualifications:

  • High level of secondary education.
  • Degree preferred.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good time management, organizational skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Industry relevant qualifications, e.g. IMC, CFA - optional.
  • Knowledge of order management systems, e.g. CRD desirable.
  • Clear communication skills to audiences of different levels of seniority.
  • SQL, Word, Excel, PowerPoint - optional.

Required Competencies:

  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable and show initiative in different circumstances and under pressure.
  • Flexibility in working outside of your responsibilities and areas of expertise.
  • Other: Flexible working hours may be required.
