Student Recruitment Coordinator

Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Newcastle University Full time

Are you hardworking, organised and passionate about university education and the opportunities it can offer young people?

We are looking for a Student Recruitment Co-ordinator to join our busy team.

The UK Recruitment Team develops, leads and delivers a range of exciting events designed to encourage young people from across the UK to consider university. This is a varied role – in a typical week you might travel to another city to deliver an inspiring talk to students considering their options, plan the logistics of an on-campus event, create engaging presentations or work with colleagues on large scale projects such as Open Days.

Conversion Activity

An element of this role will involve planning and organisation of our events exclusive to offer holders. This could include our series of Offer Holder Experience Days on campus. You will work with the Student Recruitment Manager to support the implementation of the University's strategies for student recruitment, widening participation and marketing to maximise the conversion of high-quality students from diverse backgrounds.

PARTNERS Programme

You will work as part of the team that delivers the Newcastle University supported entry programme (PARTNERS); delivering PARTNERS specific events and activities throughout the year as well as leading and supporting elements of the PARTNERS application process. You will also play an integral part of the delivery of the residential Year 13 PARTNERS Academic Summer School.

Event planning and delivery

You will be involved in the organisation and delivery of multiple campus events for prospective students. One example is our 'Bitesize Uni' Year 12 summer school, a residential event held on campus for over 200 students. You'll also lead teams of Student Ambassadors, alongside event planning. You'll present to large audiences of students, parents/carers and teachers, manage budgets and carry out evaluation and reporting.

Outreach and recruitment activity

You will support other key UK Recruitment Team activities and line manage a member of the UK Recruitment Support Team. You will also support other University events and activities such as Open Days and Clearing. You will account manage several key schools across the UK, occasionally travelling to deliver presentations, attend recruitment fairs and other university events throughout the year.

Who are we looking for?

You will have experience of event planning and organisation, developing and delivering presentations, working as part of a team and managing a complex workload. You will be a flexible, adaptable problem solver. This is a busy and exciting role, providing the post holder with a great deal of job satisfaction and would be suited to candidates wishing to progress their career in the Higher Education Sector.

Essential requirements of the role

A full, clean driving license is required as travel across the UK is essential, and our team predominantly use hire cars for this. Additionally, driving is required at our on campus events. This includes the transportation of resources around campus and being on 'hospital cover' where attendees may need to be taken to A&E. A further requirement is the willingness to work some weekends and outside of normal office hours.

The team currently work flexibly. This role is full time (37 hours) and you will work in the office at least 3 days per week with the option to work the other 2 days at home.

£29,605 to £31,396 per annum.
