Learning Support Adviser

As a Learning Support Adviser, you will identify and assess the needs of students who disclose an additional support need and/or a disability. The role of a Learning Support Adviser is responsible for making recommendations of reasonable adjustments and support measures across teaching, learning and assessment.
These recommendations and support will be based on specialist knowledge and understanding that allows you to support the progression and development of our students, whilst also encouraging them to develop strategies that fosters independence and enables them to reach their full potential at college.
The role of a Learning Support Adviser at Edinburgh College will contribute to the development of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment practices across the wider college community, raising awareness of additional support needs and disability legislation while working proactively with internal and external partners to support individuals, in a student-centered way, to achieve their goals and overcome any challenges arising.
We operate a guaranteed interview scheme and open this to BME groups, people living with a disability, the care experienced and Armed forces veterans - if you meet the essential criteria, you will automatically be selected for an interview.
