Associate Director - Brand Leader - Rheumatology (UK&IE)

Location - Basingstoke (Hybrid) - 3 days per week.

Reporting into Associate VP Bio-Medicines

As the leader of a highly engaged team, the UK & Ireland Brand Leader - Rheumatology will be accountable for leading the commercialisation of Rheumatology brands across the UK and Ireland, with people leader responsibilities for the UK Brand Team.

You will take charge of strengthening the portfolio marketing across Rheumatology and ensure alignment with the dermatology team as a "One Immunology Approach".

The Rheumatology Brand leader will need to ensure Lilly remains relevant and differentiated by further improving our overall Brand propositions and underscoring the value of our Lilly Rheumatology portfolio while strengthening our customer experience. Your success will also be measured by the effective leadership of the Brand Team and ensuring strong brand cohesion. The role will also call for you to partner closely with several functions including Pricing, Reimbursement and Access, Medical, Sales, MCE, Regulatory, etc. Also partnering with the International Business Unit (IBU) and Global, to deliver strategic objectives for the Brands. This role will maximise the value that our Rheumatology Brands can bring to our target patients, to HCPs and to Lilly, through building a collaborative Team Lilly - trust, empowerment and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and People Management

  • Lead, coach & handle a successful and diverse team, modelling leadership and the Team Lilly behaviours (Include, Innovate, Accelerate and Deliver).
  • Establish and effectively communicate clear goals, objectives, priorities, and Blue Chips for the team
  • Partnering with Brand Managers and CMO, to build marketing capabilities across the team, NE Hub and Lilly capability roadmap including a specific focus on Portfolio Marketing capabilities.

Brand strategy development and brand management:

  • Based on a Global with Local approach, develop insights-based marketing strategies and plans that create outstanding customer experiences and lead to business objectives (Launch Readiness, etc).
  • Overall portfolio sales performance and budget (OPEX)
  • Making prioritizations and trade-off decisions in order to maximise the commercial opportunities in the portfolio.
  • Utilise the IBU content factory in line with a 'Create Once, Maximise Reuse'-guidelines especially for IVA, email, 3rd party SOA and eP2P.

Thought Leader Engagement (TLE) and Endorsement

  • Supervise and approve the Thought Leader strategy in partnership with key stakeholders, including medical
  • Engage actively with key Thought Leaders (Regional, National and International), to build long-term business relationship, to uncover mutual opportunities of strategic partnerships, and to drive Thought Leader endorsement for our target patient strategy
  • Responsible for oversight of marketing advisory boards and speaker training

Support and engagement with Field-Based Personnel

  • Build trust with the sales team(s) to foster a collaborative working relationship
  • Simplify the Lilly Immunology Portfolio for sales teams with clear focus on key priorities sales team need to effectively execute against
  • Accountable for two effective Customer Dialogue Model (CDM) teams to ensure an agile feedback loop is in place between the customer facing team and Marketing/Medical for continuous improvement/innovative solutions that meet customers' needs around our target patient strategy
  • Focus on supporting sales team through stronger portfolio selling across our key brands

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Accountable for understanding, implementation, and adherence to company policies, processes and external obligations including local pharma code(s) and Red Book
  • Accountable for team compliance to PMAP process with only fully approved and certified materials in use and timely withdrawal of all expired materials for the portfolio
  • Responsible for regular governance and review of the portfolio Brand Team activities and compliance findings.
  • Work collaboratively with Ethics and Compliance to explore the root causes of compliance findings and to put in place corrective, and embed preventative, actions in the Immunology Brand team.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Proven product portfolio management skills (Affiliate, Regional or Global), including strong strategic thinking, patient journey understanding (incl MOTs), project planning skills, developing local tactics based on global strategy and deep customer insights/needs.
  • A strong compliance mindset and demonstrated leadership of integrity on the job.
  • Demonstrable leadership, coaching and management skills, including in virtual setting and collaboration with and through others.
  • Strong business acumen: ability to identify opportunities and convert them into growth, and ability to make trade-offs to maximize the potential of the brand
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritise and enable/support the team to do the same
  • Confident in developing talent and establish a successful team with a confident pursuit of excellence.
  • Veeva Business Reviewer (can be initiated at start of role)

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Prior launch experience/therapy area experience at Affiliate, Regional or Global level.
  • Sales/MCE/Six Sigma experience
  • International/cross-cultural work experience
