The Service:

The Battenburg Family Centre Team supports children and young people to have safe and positive family time with their parents and family when separated as part of Court Proceedings, and also to support children remaining within their family through offering an intensive parenting programme. The team are positive, friendly and most importantly aspirational for children and young people's futures.

Your New Role:

You will lead and support the Battenburg team, including on staff development, learning through mentoring, and reflective supervision. You will manage performance, data and absence, and you will encourage your team to be creative and solution-focused in responding to individual needs. You will manage, develop and maximise operational relationships within the team and with partners to deliver an effective service. We believe strongly in involving children and young people in all aspects of their care plans and the services we provide to meet their care needs.

What you'll need to succeed:

You have a Diploma or Degree in social work, are registered with Social Work England, and have substantial post qualifying experience working within children and families in social work. You are passionate about working with young people and motivated to achieve good outcomes for them, and you are curious, creative and solution focused. You can liaise professionally with a range of key stakeholders including children, families, colleagues, other professionals, and senior managers, and have experience of managing staff or students. You have skills in problem solving, leadership, organising and communication. You are collaborative, can manage your time well, and have good IT skills. You have a solid understand of law, theory and statutory guidance relating to family safeguarding service.
