Pertemps Daventry are recruiting for a Product Design Engineer for one of our well established clients.

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 17:00pm

Salary £24,000pa to £39,000pa Dependant on Experience.

As part of an ongoing expansion you will be working as a Key Part of the Product Design team, this role will be to create products from conception through to production.

Do you have you have a Qualifications in Mechanical / Product Design or Design Engineer with extensive experience of using SolidWorks.
If you have experience with Sheet Metal Products and Metal Fabrication then we would like to speak with you

Job responsibilities:
  • Designing new products and modifying existing products using Solidworks CAD Software.
  • You will Manage the complete product design lifecycle from Brainstorming and concept development to project management and production.
  • Creating Parts Lists/ BOM's using SolidWorks
  • Creating Engineering drawings
  • Liasing with Suppliers
  • Physical Testing of products
  • Producing content for product instruction manuals- Training to be provided
  • Managing product data and documentation
Candidate Requirements
  • Strong Experience in 3D CAD product design/ with a engineering background with SolidWorks.
  • Experience with Sheet metal and metal fabrication
  • A excellent understanding of the design process and manufacturing techniques
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent Team working and communication skills, Sketch,Written and Verbal
  • Self motivated,organised multi tasker capable of managing projects.
  • A Can do Attitude with suggesting ideas and improvements to products.
  • Excellent PC Skills
  • Experience in a Workshop Environment.
  • A understanding of aluminium extrusions and plastics would be an advantage
  • FEA Stress Analysis/ Simulation would be an advantage
  • Previous experience with a PDM system would be an advantage.
  • You must be flexible as you will be required to travel around the UK and Internationally up to 2 times per year.
  • Must be able to lift 25kg weight to chest height for product testing.
