ABC Teacher are seeking a Nursery Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis at a Nursery based in Sandwell from September.

This role will be on a day to day basis, therefore we can work around your availability, however the timings may vary from 08:00 - 18:00 dependent on the shift.

Job Description:

As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursery team in the daily care and education of our children. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of activities that promote the development of children.
  • Supporting the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.
  • Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Helping with the preparation and maintenance of learning materials and resources.
  • Ensuring the nursery s policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Assisting with the personal care of children, including toileting, feeding, and dressing.
  • Observing and recording children's progress and communicating this to the lead teacher.
  • Participating in regular team meetings and ongoing professional development. (If you're on a long-term basis)

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them to thrive.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a desire to start a career in early childhood education.
  • A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, creativity, and a caring nature.
  • A willingness to undergo a DBS check and any other required background checks.
