Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen within the Property Maintenance section of the Regeneration and Community Services Directorate for a muti-skilled plumber to work within a team as a Maintenance Support Officer. Duties carried out will vary from carpentry, glazing, plumbing, decorating and dealing with many other day to day issues associated with a reactive maintenance team.

The Property Services Maintenance Team are looking for a qualified plumber who can work as part of a small team and is able to contribute to providing a quality service for all their clients.

The successful candidate will be expected to, as well as carrying out plumbing work, perform other tasks such as carpentry, decorating and any other building work requested by the Maintenance Support Supervisor. For example, make purpose made joinery e.g. Doors / Door Frames. Carry out Glazing emergency works e.g. glazing on D/G/Units P.V.C Windows and doors / Wooden Windows, Doors / Metal Windows, Doors / Roof Lights after Vandalism / Fire Damage / Breakages / Break-ins.

The successful candidate must also be available for out of hours emergencies such as, standby and other emergency conditions

The successful candidate should have construction site experience, be a qualified tradesperson with wide ranging building skills and a detailed knowledge of health and safety. Retain the ability to work without supervision, manage own workload and can have a caring nature when dealing with people they may come into contact carrying out their duties e.g. working in a residential home with vulnerable adults.
