Description

Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for a dynamic role? You will be joining a well established and successful business based in Blackburn where you will be taking ownership for the accounts function for their group of companies.

You will be managing legal cashier duties and bookkeeping, supported by an accounts assistant and the Directors.

Here is an overview of your responsibilities :

· Oversee the accounts function and ensure compliance with business strategies.

· Process quarterly VAT returns and monthly payroll.

· Produce monthly management accounts and data analysis.

· Perform bank reconciliations and manage purchase ledgers.

· Handle CHAPS, BACS, and Faster Payments.

· Liaise with suppliers and ensure timely payment of invoices.

· Assist with external audits and prepare year-end schedules for Companies House.

· Manage payroll, HMRC submissions, and pension schemes.

· Forecast cash flow and monitor financial movements.

· Ensure compliance with SRA rules and handle client account reviews.

· Prepare journals and process monthly expenses.

· Provide timely, accurate information to clients and suppliers, adhering to data protection regulations.

· Support Directors with financial monitoring and coordination.

· Uphold company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • Part qual ACCA / CIMA or qual by experience
  • Membership with an accountancy body such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
