Student Casework Officer

We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Student Casework team. The Student Casework Officer will be responsible for delivering administrative processes related to the University's complaints, appeals, academic misconduct, non-academic misconduct, academic integrity, Office of Independent Adjudicator (OIA), Prevent, medical school concerns, and fitness to practice (FTP) processes. Reporting to the Student Casework Manager, the post-holder will provide front-line administrative services to students, staff and other key stakeholders involved in casework matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Casework Processes: Assist in the administration of student casework processes including complaints, appeals, academic misconduct, non-academic misconduct, academic integrity, OIA, Prevent, medical school concerns, and FTP, ensuring compliance with the University's regulatory obligations and internal frameworks.
  • Front-Line Services: Provide front-line administrative services to students regarding their engagement with various casework processes. Address academic and student inquiries, service meetings, and draft communications to stakeholders.
  • Record Maintenance: Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of student casework records.
  • Liaison: Work collaboratively with colleagues across the University and engage with external stakeholders, fostering and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Research and Collation: Research and compile key information for casework files.
  • Guidance: Direct colleagues to relevant policies and procedures, offering guidance when necessary.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Proven relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of University structures and systems, with awareness of the broader sector/external environment.
