Faculty / Directorate

The DMU Education Academy is De Montfort University's new educational development and enhancement unit. Applying a strategy-aligned and data-informed approach in all that it does, the Academy supports the delivery of DMU's Empowering University Strategy and Learning for Life Implementation Plan. Our expert developers in academic practice and digital capability work side-by-side at the centre of DMU's impactful and student-focused learning and teaching community.

Role

Reporting to the Head of the DMU Education Academy, the postholder will manage all aspects of internal and external communications and the management of events in the DMU Education Academy. Key responsibilities include:

  • To support the Head and Deputy Head of the DMU Education Academy with the strategic internal and external alignment of messaging and communications that enhance the impact, reach and work of the Academy.
  • To take a leading role in the developing and overseeing the communication strategy of the DMU Education Academy, including the operationalisation and alignment of work in the Learning for Life Implementation Plan.
  • To manage and develop the DMU Education Academy's online presence, including the writing and editing of digital content for the Academy's website and intranet.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have proven experience of copywriting and managing communications and events in a Higher Education environment. Other key skills and attributes include:

  • Experience of successful writing and editing, including presenting information clearly and accurately and being able to support a team and working with a number of different stakeholders.
  • Excellent personal and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all organisational levels.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office 365 and associated packages including Excel, Word, Outlook, Forms and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to working on campus for three days per week, with two days remote working.
