JOB PURPOSE

- This position has a team of two procurement assistants reporting in it. Therefore being a talent catalyst is a non-negotiable which includes: spotting, developing and retaining talent and creating an inclusive team environment
Professional sourcing of Speciality Chemicals (Polymers) whilst meeting the specified needs of the business at the most competitive commercial terms. Building and developing sustainable partnerships through innovative value creation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To collaborate with senior functional leaders to establish both short and long-term business objectives basis insights on current and future markets trends for the business
- Develop and implement strategies for the procurement of the respective portfolios in line with business objectives - Decides who to buy from, how to buy, when to buy
- Identify, develop and manage strategic business relationships to enable implementation of business strategy
- Deliver cost and cash savings based on sourcing strategies
- Ensure right level of service to the business
- Ensure the supplier base is Compliant with the Unilever standards (eg. Regulatory, Quality and Responsible sourcing)
- Initiate and drive complexity reduction projects (e.g. harmonisation of specifications and suppliers)
- Identify metrics, tools and process to optimize sourcing, supplier activities and efficiencies.
- Work closely with the R&D and Category Procurement teams to support the launch of innovations and new product development
- Support the business with accurate price forecasting. Prepares information on purchase prices and conditions to enable proper budgeting and cash forecasting.
- To continuously improve ways of working and optimise procurement activities.
- To ensure the satisfaction of Unilever's internal customers with the services provided by the procurement organization
- To develop, coach and mentor resources within a high performing and motivated team responsible for interfacing with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
