We are looking to recruit an undergraduate student to undertake a Year in Industry placement within the Manufacturing & Projects Departments of our major chemicals manufacturing site at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The 12-month placement will commence in Summer 2025.
The successful candidate(s) will be asked to support chemical manufacturing working alongside operations and project personnel. The work will be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to experience chemical production activities across the site within an experienced supportive and innovative environment.
The work will utilise and develop your practical skills and ability together with applying the knowledge you have gained from your university course studies. The engineering work will be varied and involve technical troubleshooting of plant problems, monitoring plant trials, assisting with new/existing projects and updating support documentation such as operating instructions and plant engineering line drawings.
Applicants are required to be studying for a Chemical Engineering Degree and will be expected to be on course for either a 1st class or upper second class honours.
Good communication skills along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential, as are strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Candidates must be proactive, self-motivated and have the ability to use their own initiative to achieve results. The ability to use standard Microsoft office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be required for report writing and producing presentations.
