Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Skills for Success Multiply team in Pembrokeshire.

Futureworks is seeking a Multiply Skills Adviser who will identify, coach and teach adult (19+) learners to maximise their educational, vocational and personal development potential.

Multiply is a UK wide numeracy programme which aims to raise the numeracy levels of adults through the delivery of skills courses and qualifications. The programme is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Multiply is an exciting scheme that enables adults to attend free numeracy courses supporting them to develop greater skills and confidence in numeracy, enabling better budgeting, supporting children with homework, increased job opportunity and potential to gain numeracy qualifications such as GCSE or Functional/Essential Skills.

Skills for Success aims to help adults improve their ability to understand and use number skills effectively in daily life, home, and work: improving household finances, helping children with homework, making more sense of the facts in the media or improving skills specific to a line of work.

The emphasis is on innovative approaches to developing relevant numeracy skills in adults who don't currently have a GCSE or Level 2 maths qualification, who may lack confidence in their number skills and/or who need some support before starting qualification courses.

As a Multiply Skills Adviser, you will develop, plan and deliver new courses and workshops for our adult learners, fostering creative approaches that take the focus off scary maths' and instead explore numeracy topics in a practical way relevant to everyday life and work.

You will be expected to create schemes of work and lesson plans, identify and create high quality teaching and learning resources. You will support learners to achieve their numeracy goals and make good progress.

We welcome applications from people with classroom and / or online learning delivery experience in any subject and the confidence, enthusiasm and skills to plan and deliver engaging numeracy provision up to and including Level 2.

A recognised teaching qualification is desirable. However, we will consider further training and development opportunities, including completion of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training for strong candidates with a passion for helping others to develop number skills, who don't yet have a teaching qualification.

The ability to use technology to enhance learning will be vital and some online course delivery will be required.
