Learning Support Practitioner, Resource Base for D/deaf and/or Hard of Hearing Students

The post is initially offered on a fixed term contract with the possibility of being extended in the future. The successful candidate will provide support for our wonderful Resource Base students who access all the mainstream classes. You will provide support in these classes and be responsible for modifying the curriculum in all subject areas to support learning, training and guidance will be provided by the Teacher of the Deaf. Good levels of numeracy and literacy are required (GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths).

Previous school experience and specialist qualifications are not essential, as it is more important for the successful candidate to show empathy, resilience, initiative, dedication to our students, and a good sense of humour. Signing is not required for this post, but is desirable, support will be given to acquire further BSL skills for interested candidates.

The post is for 32.5 hours per week, term time only. The successful candidate will:
