Do you want to lead a team of general equine practitioners in teaching the equine vets of the future?

If so, the Department of Veterinary Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Clinical Veterinarian in General Equine Practice with effect from 1 July 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The purpose of this role is to develop and lead a high standard of clinical service provision and teaching in equine general practice. The person appointed will provide leadership in the provision of clinical equine general practice services to the Department of Veterinary Medicine. The successful applicant will also take primary responsibility for the clinical teaching of veterinary undergraduate students on their equine rotations.

Applicants should be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Applicants should have an in-depth understanding of the requirements of equine general practice work with significant experience of working in an equine general practice environment. Excellent team leadership and team working skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team and work with vision and foresight, are essential.

Additional remuneration for out of hours work, and with additional market pay supplement, dependent on experience and subject to approval.
