Harper Bell Seventh-day Adventist school, known for its high expectations and nurturing Christian ethos, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced School Business Manager to join a dedicated and hardworking team. This opportunity requires a professional who can provide accurate and efficient financial and operational leadership, to advise and work closely with the Headteacher, other senior leaders and the governing board. The role requires managing small administrative and site management teams, so will require a proactive individual with experience of working in a busy office, where flexibility and the ability to prioritise in a changeable environment is beneficial. Commitment to collaborative teamwork within the wider school community and to the school's distinctive Christian vision, mission and values is of paramount importance.

The successful candidate will have:

  • a people-focused approach with a positive 'can do' mind-set and excellent financial competence
  • experience of leading and managing the finance strategy and operation of a business or school to achieve the best service outcomes
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills – bringing energy, resilience and enthusiasm to the workplace when engaging with the Headteacher and Governors to drive school improvement
  • creative ideas to ensure the school is continuously improving and getting value for money
