Role Summary

As a Fundraising Officer, you will play a key role in fundraising campaigns across all charitable funds as directed by the Head of Fundraising.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day correspondence and communication with donors and supporters of the charity, arranging events and exploring new ways to encourage donations and support for the charity.

You will act as a key contact point for potential donors, offering expert support and guidance to those who wish to donate or arrange fundraising events.

You will be required to represent the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust charity at public events, which may involve accepting cheques and public speaking. You will also be responsible for liaising with the media and using social media to spread fundraising messages effectively.

We will require all fundraising to comply with financial regulations and our existing charitable funds accounting systems.

A full driving licence and use of a car is required for this position.



About the Role

Royal Devon Hospitals Charity (RDHC) has an exciting opening for an inspirational and experienced Fundraising Officer to maternity leave. The post holder will join an established Fundraising team based in Barnstaple.

We're looking for a passionate people person who can demonstrate at least two years fundraising experience and is able to meet financial targets. You will support volunteers and fundraise for our various appeals and to support the running costs of the Fern Centre at North Devon District Hospital.

It's an exciting time to join Royal Devon Hospitals Charity. The charity (formerly Over and Above) has recently joined forces with our friends in Eastern Devon (RD&E Charity) and we're busy raising money to support two new capital appeals in Exeter and North Devon.

As the official charity of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, we support 2 Acute Hospitals, 17 Community Hospitals and a range of Community, Specialist and Primary Care Services.

The charity helps fund new state-of the-art equipment; create world-class patient and staff environments; support additional staff development and wellbeing projects; and fund cutting-edge research.

We've got big ambitions to become a household name for anyone wanting to support the NHS in Exeter, Eastern, Northern and Central Devon.

And with your enthusiasm, passion and amazing people skills, and by championing our cause, you can make a difference and help us to push the limits of what's possible with NHS funding.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend and evening work.
