The BASF Agricultural Specialities Limited production site in Littlehampton, produces industry leading biological pest control products formulated from beneficial nematodes. These products are used by farmers and growers across the globe in agricultural, protected ornamental and home and garden markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Production Operator your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining various types of equipment in production and utilities, including vessels, centrifuges, filters, boilers, compressors, generators, chillers, and effluent holding tanks.
  • Conducting necessary checks in the inoculation and fermentation process, including diaphragm checks, DO probe checks, and physical checks for temperature and pressure. This also involves conducting in-process checks and sampling as required.
  • Conducting cleaning, rinsing, and sterilization of fermentation vessels.
  • Conducting equipment checks and troubleshooting issues, ensuring that they are escalated as appropriate. Following standard operating procedures and ensuring ESHQ compliance in the field of responsibility.

Please note: This is a hands on role and will include manual handling up to 20kg. This role will also include on-call duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of machinery/equipment and requirements for operating and maintaining them e.g. pumps, mixers, valves etc.
  • Educated to GCSE Level (including Maths, English and ideally a science with Grade 5) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work accurately and quickly in a time target pressured environment without close supervision. Following written procedures, safety compliance and demonstrating good attention to detail.
  • Must be computer literate.
