Position Summary: They are seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to oversee major projects valued in excess of 25m. The successful candidate will have a strong background with Tier 1 or regional main contractors, specializing in external works and structural steel. Experience in public sector construction is highly desirable, and package management experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that all activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Package Management: Coordinate and oversee various project packages, ensuring seamless integration and successful delivery of each component.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, including subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety standards on-site, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor all construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and promptly address any issues that arise.
- Financial Management: Monitor project costs and manage budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximizing profitability.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed progress reports, identifying potential risks or issues and recommending effective solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager with Tier 1 or regional main contractors.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects valued at 25m or more.
- Extensive expertise in external works and structural steel construction.
- Significant experience in public sector construction projects is highly desirable.
- Strong package management experience is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Education and Certifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in health and safety, project management, and construction management are advantageous.
