We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and interactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a full time, term time only basis. The main purpose of the role will be to provide 1:1 support and interventions for an individual KS4 pupil on the SEND register. You will also be adept at coaching our students KS2 – KS5 through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress each and every lesson.

Key responsibilities:

To act as Key Worker for identified pupil, regularly liaising with parents and staff to ensure progress against Learning Plan targets.To complement the professional work of teachers, particularly within an alternative curriculum. For example, joint planning with teachers and preparing and delivering learning activities for ASDAN/entry-level courses.To promote and facilitate the inclusion of the pupil within the learning environment, supporting interaction where required.To work with teachers, LSCO and RSENDCO to monitor the pupil's progress and assess, record and report on this.To build positive working relationships and links with parents and outside agencies who are working with the pupil.To support other pupils as required across KS2 – KS5 including those with EHCPs.You will: Have experience of working with children KS2 – KS5 within a learning environment.Ideally have experience of supporting students with Down Syndrome and speech, language and communication needs including use of Makaton.Have working knowledge of or willingness to learn about alternative curriculum programmes, such as ASDAN/entry-level.Excellent understanding of SEND procedures.Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience (NVQ Level 4/5).Communicate and co-operate effectively and positively with specialists from outside agencies, where applicable.We offer: Supportive staff, and an involved community who are committed to school improvement, who will work with you to achieve your goals.Students who are enthusiastic and highly motivated with a love of learningExcellent premises and well-equipped classrooms providing a modern and technologically advanced learning environment for students.
