Job Summary

Access to consistent, always-on power is becoming a major success factor for the clients Black & Veatch serve. Whether for a data centre, industrial complex, or an EV fleet charging hub, BV design and build on-site power infrastructure and grid interconnections that connect new age technology and energy to today's grid.

As Project Manager - Grid you'll focus on grid services within EMEA, leading all aspects of medium to large projects with multiple clients, managing and leading teams of multi-discipline professionals and coordinating the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the project delivery.

This role can be based at our offices in Glasgow or London in the United Kingdom, or Madrid in Spain. We work hybrid, 3 days per in the office and 2 days from home.

We may also consider remote working in Spain for the right candidate (must reside in and have the legal right to work in Spain).

Some travel throughout the EMEA region to project/client sites and BV offices will be required.

Key Responsibilities

You'll be accountable for:


• Managing risks related to cost, schedule, and quality throughout the full project lifecycle


• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, and client satisfaction


• Overseeing the day-to-day execution of projects, including financial metrics, planning, scheduling, and staffing


• Coordinating technical requirements relating to grid and substation projects


• Obtaining new/repeat business and supporting contract negotiations

Minimum Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


• Significant experience in grid and/or substation projects within EMEA


• Proven background or managing and leading teams of multi-discipline professionals


• Experienced in coordinating the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the project delivery

• PMP certification


• Experience working with similar engineering consultancies


• Experience in data centre design, EV charging infrastructure, BESS projects
