Our client, a leading offshore boutique, is looking for an experienced and ambitious lawyer to lead the development of their new corporate tax practice in Bermuda. This is a rare opportunity for a specialist in corporate tax to make what could be both a career-defining and life-changing move.

You will be joining a small but highly impressive team that works alongside some of the world's pre-eminent onshore firms, providing Bermudian law advice on high-value cross-border transactions. With the impending introduction of Corporate Income Tax in Bermuda, this is a unique opportunity to establish yourself at the forefront of a new practice, capitalising on strong existing client relationships to build your own network of contacts. It will suit someone who combines technical excellence with outstanding client management skills and good commercial instincts.

The role will offer an attractive remuneration, benefits and relocation package. It is likely to appeal to someone who is seeking a complete change from the typical City law firm environment but who is as career-motivated and ambitious as ever. Bermuda

Bermuda offers you the opportunity to live and work in one of the world's most desirable locations. The island benefits from a mild year-round climate, never too cold in the winter and rarely too hot in the summer. It is famed for its picture-postcard pink sand beaches and crystal-clear ocean, but it also has plenty of history and boasts all the attractions associated with a luxury holiday destination. And if you should need a break from island life, with regular direct flights to London, New York and other parts of the US, it is particularly well connected.

Process

Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later (depending on your notice period). Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation.

Package

Highly competitive salary, low tax-rate. Comprehensive benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance).

Requirements

You will need to be UK/Commonwealth (Australia/New Zealand/Canada/South Africa) admitted Solicitor/ Attorney and are likely to have in excess of 5 years' pqe. Applicants outside of that range are welcome to apply but note that 3 years' pqe is required for work permit reasons.
