Contract type - This position is a permanent contractWorking pattern - this role is a full time role with National travel 2-3 times a week. The team aim to meet up once a month either virtually or in Milton Keynes/Bracknell.About the role:

As the Fire Safety Policy and Strategy Manager for the Partnership you will be responsible for ensuring that we have a clear and robust fire safety management system. The role will improve the understanding of the fire safety responsibilities amongst stakeholders and in doing so will positively improve fire safety management within the Partnership.

Key responsibilities:

You will have a detailed knowledge of fire safety and the Building Safety Act and consideration to the breadth of our Partnership sites including retail, distribution, manufacturing, hotels and Build to Rent.You will also ensure that the relative requirements of each of these is considered in our policies and standards.You will be responsible for establishing robust fire safety policies and a fire safety management system across the Partnership. You will provide fire safety advice and training to stakeholders. Lead a programme of continuous improvement and education which will positively influence fire safety standards.You will ensure the successful design and implementation of fire risk assessments. Your subject matter expertise will also be expected to provide on site fire risk assessment support for our more complex sites.You will be required to conduct specific assessments for complex fire queries directly and produce in-depth written reports.You will manage investigations into serious fire incidents and provide support in emergency situations.You will ensure that fire safety remains high on the agenda for the Partnership and that all leaders and Partners understand their responsibilities.This role requires you to be on call (on a rota basis) in order to provide emergency safety response 24/7 for all JLP sites.You will provide regular fire safety performance reports for the Health and Safety Lead to assure the Board and Executive team as required.What will you be doing?

Acting as the lead authority on fire safety strategy for the Partnership across all types of locations.Designing and implementing the Partnership's programme of fire risk assessments and ensuring that delivery of risk assessments is completed, and risks are tracked, managed and mitigations documented.Developing and owning all fire safety policies, procedures and frameworks. Setting the Partnership's standards for fire safety.Reviewing the fire safety systems to ensure they remain fully compliant and fit for purpose.Assisting and advising Leaders and stakeholders across the organisation on fire safety management systems, auditing against this and running training as required.Producing reports to ensure the Executive team and senior leaders are kept apprised of our fire safety position.Liaising with other relevant teams including Property, third party organisations, including enforcement agencies, as required.Keeping up to date with legislation related to fire safety and network externally to ensure that we remain in line with best practice from across the sector.Essential skills you'll need:

Proven extensive experience in a similar fire safety position, ideally with experience across varied property portfolios and working in a strategic fire safety role.Relevant Fire Safety qualifications in fire safety management or fire engineering - Degree or Diploma level (or equivalent)Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) registration or equivalentUnderstanding/knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire safety) Order, Building Safety Act, fire safety standards and fire guidance documentsExceptional communications skills with experience of influencing and engaging effectively across a wide range of stakeholdersUK Driving Licence Benefits of the Partnership and the role:
