Our client, a dynamic and innovative company located in Bury St Edmunds, is in search of a highly driven Qualified Accountant to join their team.

The Business Unit Accountant will assist the Senior Finance Manager in handling the daily, monthly, and yearly financial requirements of the UK divisional entity, with additional assistance to global entities as needed.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Month end tasks and financial reporting to Group
  • Intercompany reporting and reconciliations, including recharges.
  • Managing Fixed Assets accounting and processes
  • Managing Leased Assets under IFRS1
  • Preparation of journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordination and primary contact with external auditors
  • Accounting and submission of VAT, Intrastat and EC sales (3 registrations)
  • Management of company Corporate Credit cards
  • Supporting FP&A team in creating forecasts and budgets as needed
  • Ensuring strict adherence to internal controls.
  • Financial statement preparation for UK and other entities
  • Assisting Group tax team in tax return preparation and tax analysis.
  • Generating KPIs for various finance segments.
  • Handling any other necessary tasks
Knowledge and Skills:

Essential:

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Awareness of personal limitations regarding safety
Desirable:
  • Understanding of VAT accounting
  • Experience in manufacturing and engineering sectors
Education and Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; especially advanced Excel skills
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with IFS Enterprise Resource Planning (IFS10) system or similar
