The Role: We are looking for a talented Financial Accountant to join our team and support our mission. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career in a healthcare setting.

Located in leafy St. Johns Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our luxury independent hospital has an international reputation for providing the highest quality of care to patients and is unique in that all profits fund our onsite hospice, St. Johns.

What are the Key Responsibilities of this Financial Accountant role?
Produce accurate account reconciliations each period end.Design and implement a risk-based balance sheet reconciliation process.Assist in preparing annual statutory accounts for both charitable and commercial arms.Develop and update Finance department policies and processes.Oversee fixed asset accounting and maintain the fixed assets register.Manage and action Capex requests, presenting cost reports and ensuring accurate accruals/WIP accounting.Provide auditors with year-end Fixed Asset and Capex schedules for a clean audit report.Review and approve month-end journals raised by the Cashier.Prepare the annual Capex Budget and assist in the overall hospital budget preparation.Prepare quarterly VAT returns.Support junior team members and provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Am I the right person for this Financial Accountant role?
Recognized accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).Degree level or equivalent.
Experience:
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.Experience with statutory accounts, tax, and VAT returns.People management experience.Healthcare experience is a plus.Knowledge of SUN Systems is beneficial.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong understanding of IFRS standards, including FRS 102.High level of analytical skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to interpret complex technical guidance and procedures.High accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines.Confident liaising with stakeholders.Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
