Your job in a nutshell:

After the realignment of Software Asset Management to business objectives the Software Licence Manager will be responsible for initiating and operating a new management system. They will initially conduct a hybrid role between operating the previous BAU service and providing input to the transitioning service based on their day-to-day findings.

The Software Licence Manager will champion foundations, developing them with the team until they are fully integrated into the business whilst displaying their value to sponsors and other stakeholders.

The Software Licence Manager will be fundamental in consulting with an ability to deploy a hybrid of both hard and soft skills.

What will you be doing:

  • Champion, market and report upon SAM service activities and performance measurements to sponsors.
  • Contribute to the design and reevaluate the SAM strategy as necessary.
  • Measure performance of the business through Key Performance Indicators.
  • Consult on matters pertaining to compliance, audits, contractual activities and software budgeting. To be commercially aware and proactively manage licencing for appropriate management of cost.
  • Advise upon a Flexera rollout and to manage future reporting services and administration of the toolset to support licensing affairs.
  • Oversee the software request process from end users in both End User Computing and Infrastructure environment.
  • Stakeholder management to sponsor level and numerous business areas including sourcing, finance, supplier management, suppliers, technology and outsourcer.

Requirements:

  • Ability to interact and manage suppliers pertaining to all matters of software licensing.
  • Administration of SAM toolset (Flexera FNMP) and potential relatable inventory systems for other licensing activities i.e. ILMT, SCCM, RVtools.
  • Administration of ITSM toolsets. Experience of service management for real requests for end users and infrastructure.
  • A strong understanding or high aptitude for multi-vendor licensing and their application to achieve commercial benefit. Display in depth licensing knowledge to Tier A and a familiarity with Tier B vendors.
  • Experience with ISO 19770 and other related best practices and their application within the real world
  • Demonstratable experience within the datacentre licensing arena for vendors such as but not limited to Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, VMware and RedHat.
  • Demonstratable experience of utilising a SAM management system to save organisations money and avoid unnecessary spend
  • Self-disciplined and autonomous with a sense of ownership taken for the service
  • Strong organisation, writing, presentation and communication skills
