Job Description

The purpose of this role will be to manage the scheduling, resourcing, and performance of project plans for operations.

This will involve driving Production Operations by monitoring, reporting, and challenging performance and driving corrective recovery actions when behind schedule.

Establish and balance workloads to discharge the demand within available capacity and ensure we meet our customer commitments.
  • Developing strategic plans in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project while providing associated analysis
  • Develop work breakdown structures, Organisational Breakdown structures and WBS dictionaries
  • Support business development teams in production of PQQ and ITN submission documentation
  • Produce and maintain shipyard norms and rates
  • Capable of producing suite of planning reports, ie histograms, Plan Vs actual
  • Conduct programme analysis to provide specialist support and advice through data harvesting and analysis, using specialist project planning software.
  • Support risk analysis and to process risk characterisation studies
  • Track programme KPIs and develop reports and presentations on programme analysis to senior client stakeholders
  • Prepare VOW / Earned Value reports / progress reporting (weekly, Monthly etc)
  • Attend client planning meetings
  • Produce individual and integrated asset plans for all activities
  • Provides planning and progress to project team, Production teams and client.
  • Assist Cost Analysts and tendering department where applicable, as required.
  • Prepares operational plans and programmes as necessary from client documentation.
  • Updates and reviews such plans at intervals based on information received from Project Manager to client nominated deadlines.
  • Recommends programme alterations to smooth resource allocation and usage throughout contract.
  • Prepares activity plans based on information provided by Project Manager / Estimators.
  • Discuss, analyse and agree any programme changes.
  • Implements agreed changes and prepares revised control documents and plans.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the position holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager from time to time.
  • Provide programmes for job estimations highlighting any constraints or threats.
  • Develop programmes from tenders, procurement, installation, commissioning to as built.
  • Developing high level plans for initial bids using Microsoft Projects.
  • Provide assistance to the Operations team & PMO ensuring the effective delivery of projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of planning information on new project start-ups.
  • Advise the project team of any changes to priorities and critical threats.
  • Creation and daily maintenance of master project plans down to operation levels using Primavera P6
  • Ability to forecast capacity and resource requirement.
  • Manage a detailed view of resource demand and capacity in line with the budget and schedule.
  • Produce progress reports and performance S-curves (using CPI and SPI)
  • Building relationships an collaborate with various functions throughout the organisation to support the implantation of plans / project plans.
  • Update current project programmes and plans with site progress daily, weekly, and / or monthly.
  • Schedule adherence progress reports and performance reports for management.
  • Development and Input into Monthly Project reviews
  • Budget man hours vs. actual hours using S-curves (using CPI and SPI). Identifying any potential overspends.
  • Monitoring internal capital projects. Highlighting Senior managers of any potential overspend.
  • Identify techniques to improve estimating, planning and cost control on existing and future projects
Qualifications:
  • Proficient with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Risk / Assumption Management
  • Experienced with data analysis and supporting tools
