Job description

TT Games, custodians of the LEGO games franchise are looking for a Senior Level Designer to work on a new LEGO title based on a major IP.

As a Senior Level Designer working on the new title, you'll set the bar for designing and building high quality levels which support the creative pillars of the game and the IP.

You'll collaborate with other development disciplines, particularly colleagues in Gameplay Programming and Environment Art to understanding their roles and build positive relationships, ensuring that they are involved in the level design process.

Being a Senior you will also be involved in providing suggestions as to how the level design workflow for your team could be improved.

Responsible for the best-selling and BAFTA-winning LEGO series, TT Games is in the business of delighting gamers both young and older alike. With more than 25 years of success behind their studio, they have incredibly exciting plans for future titles based on one of the world's biggest and loved entertainment properties.

Your responsibilities will also include...

  • Working with the Lead Level Designer, Design Director and colleagues across disciplines to iterate on feedback and user research, creating levels that met the projects quality standard
  • Mentor less experienced members of the Level Design team
  • Play the game regularly, providing feedback in a clear and constructive manner
  • Collaborate with the Production teams and Lead Level Designer to verify estimations, communicating on progress and delivering your work to the agreed quality level and timescales
  • Help to foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and respect
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...
  • 5 or more years of game design experience, inlcuding time in a senior design role
  • Experience of working on a AAA title
  • A shipped action/adventure title on console or PC as a Senior Designer
  • Able to work independently without close supervision
  • Experience of scripting gameplay and levels, ideally in Blueprint
  • Broad knowledge of game and level design
  • Strong understanding of layout, architectural composition, combat, encounter design, balancing, flow, difficulty, progression, and usability
  • Able to describe approaches and techniques that create engaging and fun levels
  • Love of creating fun and accessible games for gamers of all ages
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of UE4 and UE5 is a bonus but not essential
