This role will require the person to obtain full Security Clearance (SC) You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to Caveat Material which means there are restrictions on nationalities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify rotating machinery, including gearing, shafts, bearings, and couplings
  • Develop fluid systems designs, focusing on compressible/incompressible fluid systems, thermodynamics, heat transfer, pumps, and control valves
  • Create pressure vessel designs adhering to internationally recognised standards (e.g., ASME BPVC, PD 5500, EN 13445)
  • Oversee the engineering lifecycle from concept design, detailed design, manufacture, test & commissioning to operation and disposal
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and compliance with safety standards
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on propulsion systems
  • Strong knowledge of rotating machinery and fluid systems design
  • Proficiency in dealing with pressure vessel and piping design
  • Familiarity with the full engineering lifecycle, from concept to disposal
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation is expected
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred
  • SC level security clearance is required
