The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Preparation of Month end management accounts and reporting for Stourport siteDepartmental reporting as requiredPosting month-end journalsDetailed analysis of spend/budget variances, identify variances and drive actions to eliminatePrepare detailed analysis for annual budget, including forecasts and assist with the preparation of the annual budgetCashflow forecastingEffective cost control for the business and day to day operationsReview and maintain the standard costing systemSupport the Finance Manager in producing robust forecasts of financial performance, and identifying (rapidly and early) those areas where the financial outlook for the business requires corrective management actionWorking hands on with the production and engineering teams to identify process improvement/cost saving ideas, develop plans and implementPro-active management and control of working capital; own and drive projects to reduce stock holding, creditors and debtorsCreate live updates throughout the trading month and put necessary control tools in place (e.g. to avoid surprises at month end). Weekly information gathering and sharing data in a format that can be understood by allMonthly reporting duties in close liaison with the Shared Service CentreEnsure the business maintains robust internal controls which will ensure compliance with financial regulations and Morgan group policiesEnsure that investments (including Capex) are properly justified and prove to be effective to meet the business objectives; monitor and ensure these objectives are achievedManage the accounting entries for inventory, including analysis to support understanding of standard costs, variances arising, inventory valuation, provision for obsolescence, intercompany transactions and goods in transitPartner with the business; provide informed reports and analyses for management, in line with business needs and objectives

Experience
Minimum 2-3 years of experience experience in a financial role is essentialExperience in a similar manufacturing business is desirableStrong intellect with an ability to rapidly identify key issues, to see the big picture and apply the "common sense" test.Excellent communication skills that focus on simplicity and clarity of presentation, both written and oral.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse team in terms of seniority, function, etc. Able to influence people at all levels of the organisation and secure their buy in and commitment.High energy and an ability to demonstrate resilience in achieving goals/targets.Attention to detail and an ability to deliver to the highest standard, within rigid timeframes.A team player, working from own initiative.Responsive and self motivated.Analytical approach to problem solving.
