We are working with a leading national name in the legal sector and their highly respected medical negligence team, who require an experienced Legal Director or Senior Associate to handle a varied caseload of regulatory healthcare matters.

A bit about the role and team:

  • Our client's national Healthcare Regulatory team undertake a broad spectrum of work defending healthcare professionals and organisations in regulatory proceedings before the statutory regulators, as well as disciplinary proceedings before NHS Trusts, NHS England and other private healthcare businesses.
  • The team are regularly instructed in Coroner's Inquests, CQC proceedings, data disputes and public inquiries. There are also specialists in the department who are able to defend clients in criminal proceedings.
  • Clients range from insurance companies, medical and dental defence organisations, private individuals and professional associations.

The candidate:

  • Due to ongoing growth and succession planning, our client seeks to hire at Senior Associate/Legal Director level.
  • The successful candidate will be able to manage a complex caseload, and will have extensive experience of running regulatory and inquest matters in previous roles. They will also have experience of managing/supporting junior fee-earners.
  • The team will consider Solicitors in either Birmingham or Manchester offering a minimum of 6 years' PQE (a guide only) - they must be UK qualified.
  • The ideal applicant will have significant relevant experience in defending healthcare registrants in complex regulatory matters and before Coroner's Inquests.
