Are you an influential, dynamic and collaborative individual with a strong track record of negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of a project and of supervising staff and volunteers? Do you have proven experience of setting up new projects and project management, including co-ordinating activity and liaison with a range of stakeholders to achieve agreed objectives?

If so, St Giles is looking for a Team Leader to manage the delivery team on our new Lambeth project, which will give vital support to young people and their families where there has been a family breakdown, and the young person is at risk of becoming homeless, with the ultimate goal of safely enabling the young person to stay or return home.

About this exciting opportunity

As Team Leader – Lambeth Floating Support Service you will manage the Lambeth delivery team, consisting of Senior Caseworkers and Caseworkers, which will also involve planning and supporting the day-to-day workload for the team, monitoring and reviewing probation periods, providing additional support to new staff where necessary and conducting annual performance reviews and ongoing one-to-ones throughout the year.

You will ensure staff are correctly using the appropriate databases and monitoring processes within a timely manner and review ongoing personal development plans and agree appropriate training, while also providing advice, support and coaching to team members and attached volunteers in the form of regular supervision meetings and daily contact. Negotiating with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project and setting up and maintaining effective partnership working with key stakeholders to promote the project are also key aspects of the role.

What we are looking for


• Experience of coaching and motivating staff and/or volunteers


• Proven experience of engaging positively with vulnerable young people


• Experience of using support plans to enable young people to successfully access and sustain accommodation and support services


• Ability to work with people who have multiple and complex needs


• Sound knowledge of Housing Legislation for Young People


• Excellent prioritisation, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written


• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.
