Introduction:

Boeing United Kingdom is seeking an International Paralegal to join the Law Department within the Enterprise Finance & Corporate Governance practice group. This position will support the management and maintenance of Boeing legal entities around the globe, including subsidiaries, branch and representative offices, as well as functional and jurisdictional registrations and licenses. From time to time, the position may also assist with mergers and acquisitions as well as with other matters related to corporate governance for Boeing.

The Paralegal will perform their work under the supervision of lawyers within the Boeing Law Department, but will have significant discretion and autonomy in performing day-to-day tasks.

The Paralegal will also be expected to closely and effectively collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders inside and outside the Company, including Boeing's business and finance leaders around the globe and outside counsel, and he/she must be skilled at managing a large, complex, and global portfolio of projects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Business Support - Under the supervision of Regional and Country Counsel, provide broad-ranging legal support to the Boeing businesses in the region, particularly assisting the UK supply chain function with legal advice on procurement documents, contractual negotiations and disputes.
  • Corporate - Support ERI M&A deals and assist with board fiduciary duties, annual training.
  • Special Projects - Work with the Regional and Country Counsel on special projects that enhance to efficiency and responsiveness of the Law Department in the region, with demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable, and drive projects to completion.
  • Research - Provide timely and targeted legal and factual research and analyzes, with expertise in Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw and other legal research engines as appropriate, including research on English law, EU and local law matters using available English sources.
  • Regulatory - Review and develop understanding of national and regional regulatory regimes that will have an impact on the company. Understand and be able to communicate U.S. and local regulations as well as internal procedures associated with the giving and accepting of gifts and gratuities to commercial and government persons. File documents or make inquiries with local agencies to support legal requirements.
  • Drafting and Reviewing - Draft, review, collect, and organize training materials, substantive presentations, general commercial contracts, letters, memoranda and other written communications and agreements. Understand Boeing's form contracts and local market requirements.

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks while maintaining quality, speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as to work as a part of the wider legal team.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment would be beneficial.
  • Superb communication at all levels of interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including coordination with colleagues and clients in multiple time zones.
  • The ideal candidate will have some experience of work as a legal professional post-qualification, ideally with an international company or a law firm.
  • Qualification as a solicitor or a barrister in England (or equivalent qualification in another relevant jurisdiction) would be preferred.

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
