Our major client has plants locally and globally and are going through a period of unprecedented growth, with an order book at record levels.

They are currently seeking an additional person to join one of their divisions to work with the Health & Safety team.

Whilst some knowledge, understanding and appreciation of H&S in the workplace is required, formal qualifications are not necessary as they will look to offer training, development and qualifications to the right person with the aim of the candidate eventually becoming an H&S trainer.

The duties will include

  • Monitoring Health & Safety activities on the shop floor
  • Recording activities, accidents and near misses
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with H&S regulations both internally and externally
  • Providing administrative support to document all activities and process'

The role would suit candidates with a background in manufacturing and who have an interest or passion for Health & Safety and would like to develop a career in this field.

Good administration skills are required with experience in using Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

It is essential that you have strong, confident communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with colleagues as in time you will be delivering classroom and practical H&S courses.

The role will initially be on a temporary basis with a view to becoming permanent for the right person.

Hours of work are Mon-Thu 8.00am to 5.00pm and Fri 8.00am to 1.00pm but overtime is available, usually an hour in the mornings, paid at time and a half.
