About the team

In Acquiring we manage services and products that support the global acquiring business. We process billions in value for our customers each day and support billions in revenue for the FIS Merchant business. We work closely with out product partners in delivering solutions across the globe. We do all of this within a regulated industry.

Within Acquiring we have an opening for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead teams in the Chargebacks and Exceptions space, facing off to internal and external stakeholders.

What you will be doing

Reporting into the Sr Director of Engineering for Acquiring, you will be managing two offshore development teams, while also working closely with our London based Architecture and Product teams in delivery new solutions in this space. The role requires someone who is strong technically and has some experience in managing teams, and ideally someone who wants to grow their scope both technically and in a managerial sense.

Generally, you will be

  • Working with Product and Solutions Architecture evolving and delivering new solutions into production
  • Ensuring that the team is fit for purpose and addressing any hiring / talent gaps
  • Ensuring that the underly technology is fit for purpose, working on roadmaps and ensuring we have a strong technical strategy in place, agreed with your Solutions Architecture partners.
  • Ensure that we have a high quality service running in production, managing metrics around those production services (SLA/SLI/SLO) etc

What you bring:

  • 10+ years' experience in software engineering
  • 2+ years demonstrable experience in leading teams in a management capacity.
  • Background in software engineering, scrum and agile.
  • Have launched at least one product into production where you were leader of a team.
  • Good technical knowledge on Java, Postgres, K8S, Docker and Splunk

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience having implemented services running on AWS or other public cloud
