Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias and a solid foundation in electrical systems to join our team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Equipment Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on a range of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Installation: Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service reports and parts usage.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance engineers, production staff, and management to ensure efficient and effective maintenance processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Emergency Response: Provide prompt response to emergency breakdowns to minimize production disruptions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Mechanical Engineering: Strong mechanical engineering background with relevant qualifications (HNC, HND, or equivalent).
- Electrical Knowledge: Basic electrical knowledge and experience with electrical systems and components.
- Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team Player: Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Additional certifications in electrical engineering or related fields.
- PLC Knowledge: Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated systems.
- Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
