The Role

As the Maintenance and Building Project Manager you will provide leadership for maintaining and improving the college Estate, as a member of the College Management Team. You will manage large procurement projects, oversee services contracts to include utilities & cleaning and security, manage minor capital projects and support the development of major projects as required. You will be responsible for overseeing minor works and for providing expert input to a wide range of other investment projects. You will also provide support and cover for the Head of Estates, working as part of the overall Estates management team. You will have the confidence and customer service skills to engage with college staff, including the Executive Management Team and Principal, and the ability to work at pace and bring priority tasks to completion quickly.

Working Patterns

Hours of Duty: Minimum of 37 hours per week operating over a shift pattern, if required, attendance as necessary, Normal day shift pattern is expected to be 08:00 – 16:30. Some out of normal hours work is required as is attendance during emergency situations

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

Significant experience of managing all aspects of Building and Estate maintenance on a large and complex estate.Ability to develop project designs, originating and interpreting drawings and developing or obtaining appropriate cost estimates.Proven budget management experienceRewards and Benefits include43 days annual leave, comprising 32 personal days, pro rata (1 September – 31 August), including 8 bank holidays and 3 closure days.
