This is an opportunity to join an energetic team that is committed to supporting student success and to lead on student casework, providing advice on aspects of policy and procedure throughout the student journey.
You will have excellent interpersonal and team working skills: be able to deliver advice and guidance accurately and sensitively; and be approachable and sensitive in complex situations. Problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well as part of a team, is essential. You will have demonstrated an ability to maintain records accurately and to remain calm under pressure. You will be a confident IT user with significant and recent administrative experience of working in higher education student administration or an equivalent context. You will promote the University's values and make a direct and positive contribution to fostering a safe culture and creating a welcoming and inclusive community for all.
The post is located in the Student Progress Team, which is part of the Academic Section. The Student Progress Team oversees the policy, processes and systems that underpin the student lifecycle and the completion of a university award, from the point of registration to graduation and beyond, ensuring excellence in service provision to students, academic staff and faculties, departments and schools. The team manages the student record and student progression, including policy and processes relating to academic offences, academic appeals, fitness to practise, student engagement, student complaints, student conduct, and disclosure and barring checks.
Working as part of a team, you will progress student case work ensuring that students receive a fair and efficient service and that the University complies with relevant internal and external policies. You will provide support to managers and officers coordinating casework, advise to students and staff, and contribute to review of policy and working practices.
This role is campus based but partial home-working can be accommodated as part of our hybrid working arrangements.
A job share arrangement for this post can be considered.
