Production Arts Technician

We are looking for a Production Arts Technician to join our team at NWSLC. You will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining the technical equipment for the Performing Arts and Music departments. You will also provide support and guidance to students and staff on the use of sound, lighting, and stage management systems. You will have a relevant qualification in production arts or a related field, as well as experience in working with live events and shows. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will be flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills and technologies. If you're passionate about supporting creativity and fostering artistic growth, we encourage you to apply.
What skills are we looking for:
- Relevant experience in sound, lighting, stage management and other technical aspects of performing arts and music.
- Ability to work well with students, staff and external partners in a collaborative and supportive manner.
- Creativity, flexibility and problem-solving skills to handle various challenges and opportunities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities for the role:
- Setting up and operating sound, lighting and video equipment for performances and rehearsals
- Ensure the proper functioning and safety of the department's equipment.
- Provide guidance and support to students and staff in the use of equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with faculty and production teams to facilitate technical aspects of projects and events.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to address issues promptly.
- Assist in the organization and inventory management of materials and supplies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in equipment technology.
- Uphold safety protocols and regulations in all aspects of equipment usage and maintenance.
