The Senior Director of Infrastructure Automation is a leader in multiple technology domains within IT Infrastructure and the automation of it into a cohesive end to end process. They represent the senior technical leadership within their organization and throughout the company at large. They are responsible for helping shape the future direction of Infrastructure Automation in the organization, assisting management establish strategic roadmaps, and driving priorities to meet objectives. They also have a strong track record of growing and influencing others, leading teams, and working across all levels of the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Develop automation architecture and processes that meet address the needs of the organization and adjust over time to ensure continued relevancy.
  • Documents and publishes appropriate architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns, and frameworks.
  • Provide a point of escalation for teams facing technical challenges in the area of automation.
  • Lead a team of Infrastructure Automation Engineers and Developers.
  • Attain a measurable impact on the work of teams across the company.
  • Achieve a wide sphere of influence.
  • Identify challenges and technical interdependencies and suggest solutions to address.
  • Evangelize successful adoption and use of tooling and technologies.
  • Lead conversations to encourage collaboration across teams.
  • Teach, mentor, grow, and advise other domain experts, individual contributors, and teams in the organization.
  • Directly build and assist other leaders in building successful teams for automation.
  • Work with key customers in assigned areas to address technical challenges.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education desired.
  • Proficient in common Infrastructure Automation environment: Ansible, Terraform, GitHub, Python, and other relevant technologies.
  • Proficient in Agile ways of working.

ADDED BONUS IF YOU HAVE

  • Knowledge of deployment methodologies for multi-tier applications
  • Knowledge of basic IT technologies, i.e., operating systems, network devices, software development and architecture
  • Knowledge of data network architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols
  • Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills
  • Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas
  • Proven project management skills
