Job Description

Are you an experienced disability professional who can provide specialist advice to disabled students and offer guidance and support from application to graduation? The Disability Service is looking for a new Disability Advisor to join their team.

About The Role

  • Managing a caseload of students often with complex needs.
  • Holding virtual and in-person appointments to provide help and advice to disabled students.
  • Assessing students' needs, determining, and implementing reasonable adjustments.
  • Assisting with funding applications for Disabled Students' Allowance.
  • Liaising with staff across the University and external agencies to ensure the effective implementation of support for disabled students.

About You

  • An ability to work independently to analyse complex issues, determining creative and practical solutions to resolve situations with conflicting demands.
  • A commitment to the development of quality services for disabled students and working to enable students to participate effectively and achieve their full potential.
  • Understanding of the demands of a university environment regarding disabled students and demonstrable ability to make and recommend arrangements and adjustments to enable students.
  • Highly motivated and well-organised.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a wide range of university staff and health professionals.

£32,332 to £36,024. Grade 6, per annum
