The Role

We are seeking a motivated Tax Associate to join our vibrant tax team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in tax compliance within a global organisation. The role is initially a 6-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the VAT manager to prepare and deliver all indirect tax returns (200+ filings per year), including Group VAT, OSS, Intrastat, and EC Sales list filings. Conducting forensic investigations and historic reviews of past tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance. Collaborating with Accounts Payable and other departments to improve tax-related processes. Monitoring and maintaining deadlines for tax returns and payments to ensure timely compliance. Reviewing and attributing VAT coding for new products based on thorough technical research. Maintaining tax-related accounts within the balance sheet process. Analysing and categorising spend for corporate tax purposes. Participating in various ad hoc tax-related projects and initiatives. Location: Based in Nuneaton, this role operates under a hybrid model with 2 days a week on-site, supporting flexibility and productivity.

The Person

A graduate in finance or accounting, or an individual with experience in AP, AR, or financial accounting roles seeking a focus in tax. Strong proficiency in Excel and data manipulation. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Self-motivated with a keen interest in process improvement.
