About the Role

The purpose of the role is to provide high level administrative support and coordination to support the extensive activities of the Doctoral College. The role holder will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Head of the Doctoral College on strategic projects, e.g. sourcing and organizing internal and external data on student recruitment, PGR funding etc.; the collation and organization of information relating to PGR training opportunities across QMUL; the maintenance of associated databases; supporting the distribution of the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey; preparing and servicing meetings; support for Doctoral College training events.

The role is central to leading the administration for the delivery of training programmes for PGRs and is responsible for the administration of the skills points system and the Queen Mary Diploma of Researcher Development. The person in this role is responsible for the organization and administration of a suite of training workshops, both online and in person including room bookings, attendance monitoring and collation and payment of contractors and trainers bought in externally.

About You
The role holder will have a degree and experience of working in a high paced student focused environment. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with students, servicing committees, organizing meetings, managing financial transactions, and supporting general administration in a Higher Education Environment.

About the Department

Queen Mary's Doctoral College is responsible for the life-cycle of postgraduate research students (PGR) at QMUL. The team is responsible for the recruitment and admission, training, and examination of Queen Mary's PGR students.

The Doctoral College is a core part of the QMUL research directorate and works closely with Schools and Institutes, the Research Degrees Office, the Vice Principal for Research, Queen Mary Students Union and a number of internal and external stakeholders.
