The team
The PI team is a multi-disciplined function ideal for managing organisational change. The team has a diverse skill set, with members who have developed within Lush with an inherent understanding of the business and those with external Mechanical / Manufacturing / Process expertise from other business sectors. Process Improvement is not as simple as making a process faster or more efficient. We work in close collaboration across the organisation and at multiple levels. We provide expertise in solution finding for a multitude of challenges which can include increasing productivity & efficiency to reducing or eliminating repetitive operations and "working smarter". This includes our ability to evaluate data and produce & present that data to support business cases or development opportunities, whatever they may be. We also look at opportunities to improve our ways of working, this includes creating & implementing processes & procedures which can add value to our business and enhance the overall quality of what we do and how we do it.
We have a global influence, we work closely with our respective sites in the UK and across the World including Germany, Croatia, Australia, Japan and North America. We are constantly looking to develop ourselves and the organisation around us. We support "Lean" awareness across the organisation and progressing our own team skills & abilities.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Able to support our manufacturing sites to develop new processes & specify new equipment Able to capture requirements concisely Capable of ensuring all proposed solutions meet with the expected outcome Able to assist our manufacturing sites with floor layouts, cell designs & automated flow lines Utilize "Process Mapping" & other lean tools, methods & practices Willing to Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout Generating & presenting relevant data / documentation Willing to Produce written reports and make presentations Able to identify & propose the removal of waste from any of our processes Support continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities Investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training Keep up with current and developing manufacturing trends & equipment developments Attend various meetings and complete any assigned actions Undertake continuous training and development Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Skills & Experience:
Ideally has an understanding of differing manufacturing technologies, processes, methods & has an understanding of low & high volume production. Has an understanding of Lean methodologies & associated tools / methods and is able and willing to develop their skills further. Able to assist in carrying out a variety of process improvement assignments and tasks to deliver the related solution to the agreed schedule whilst supporting other members of the Process improvement team. Is able & willing to develop their skills and knowledge and ultimately take on projects of their own as they progress.
Is able to work closely with all associated functions to ensure final deliverables meet project and business requirements. Is willing to continuously seek opportunities for overall Process, Product & business improvement.
An understanding of various manufacturing processes An understanding of engineering, scientific and other technical information Good problem-solving skills and logical approach An understanding of lean manufacturing Ability to create & present data effectively Able to understand Health and Safety practices Good Team working skills Able to exercises latitude and sound technical judgement in deciding the optimum method & approach to solving problems Able to improve current practices / Procedures Equipped to develop new opportunities for the business to reduce cost and improve efficiencies Good interpersonal and communication skills Organised & reliable Proficient in using computer applications including google docs, MS Office etc Has ideally gained some higher level qualifications / degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
