We have an opportunity for a Senior Production Technician to join our Lungworm and Packing team at our Animal Health site in Milton Keynes.

The successful candidate will work with the team to ensure accurate and timely packing of product for dispatch to customers, attention to detail is critical. All work must be performed in accordance with current Good Manufactruring Practice (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The candidate must demonstrate a high standard of adherence to safety procedures and mindsets.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scheduling and organization of team activities, including quality compliance, safety and training related tasks to ensure adherence to commitment dates.
  • Act as the Training champion for the department, responsible for the administration of MyLearning and On the Job Training (OJT) systems and processes. To provide regular oversight and updates to the department Lead Technician on the status of our training and escalate where there are risks to training completion.
  • Printing and preparing production packaging.
  • Packing product in accordance with the schedule.
  • Set up and use of filling and labelling machines, with defined routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Supporting the area technicians and a lead technician in areas such as scheduling, capacity planning, absence cover, tier meeting attendance, improvement and project activities.
  • Deputise for the lead technician where required.
  • Documentation reviews and administration, including batch manufacturing instructions (BMI), standard operating procedures (SOP), forms.
  • Support purchasing and procurement activities for the team.
  • Accurate record keeping and document creation.
  • Deviation, corrective and preventative action (CAPA) and Change Control completion.
  • Support in GMP production environments with inspection and preparation of vaccine products.
  • General housekeeping and cleaning of the production areas
  • The majority of the work will be with the team, but the candidate should be comfortable with independent working and be self-motivated to identify and resolve production issues as they arise.
  • It is essential that all batch paperwork for the filled product, packing and dispatch is completed accurately and at the time of use.
  • The role requires lifting of items of around 5kg and occasional lifting of items up to 30kg
  • Flexible working hours to cover business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High standard of education, A Level or equivalent in Maths and English or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with safety risk assessment and safety improvement activities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with others and to work to deadlines.
  • Good record-keeping and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
  • Able to carry out repetitive lifting of items of around 5kg, occasional lifting of items up to 30kg.
  • A cGMP manufacturing environment, production, packing or warehouse.
  • Desirable experience is SAP software
