We are excited to offer the opportunity for you to join our wonderful team at Harris Primary Academy Benson as a Wraparound Club Leader.

You will be responsible for the management, organisation and running of the Breakfast & Afterschool Club Provision, to ensure that parents and carers are provided with high quality childcare for their children.

Main Areas of Responsibility

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Breakfast & Afterschool Club Provision, ensuring that parents and carers are provided with high quality childcare for their children.

Your specific duties will include:

Maintaining a safe, creative and stimulating environment for children's play experiencesPlanning a programme of activities designed to meet the needs of the childrenManaging and organising the Afterschool Club Provision, including line management of the deputy and assistantsEstablishing and maintaining positive relationships with children and their families in a way that values parental involvementObserving and assessing children's development and keeping accurate records of their achievementsTaking joint responsibility for the setting resources and report loss/damage or low stock levelsOrganising and attending regular team meetings in order to discuss and assess progress and any issuesEnsuring that all children are registered and remain on the premises at all timesProviding a creative programme of arts, crafts, games, sports, drama, music, off-site activities relevant to the needs and interests of all childrenTaking responsibility for Health and Safety issues at the afterschool club with regard to clearing, setting up and running activitiesCarrying out financial and administrative tasksTo keeping all areas of use, including toilets, clean, tidy and accessibleFollowing first aid procedures including keeping records of all accidents and the treatments givenQualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

NVQ3 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline;Good numeracy/literacy skillsAppropriate knowledge of first aidA willingness to undertake further training, if necessary, to meet the needs of the studentsExperience in a similar role or working within a school settingExperience of supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilitiesAbility to plan and lead excellent games and activities for childrenExperience of basic administration such as keeping attendance records, report writingExperience of working with children from diverse backgrounds with demonstrable knowledge of the issues involvedSense of humour, enthusiasm and imaginationPractical arts, crafts, sports and/or games skills For a full job description and person specification, please download the Job Pack.
